- Justin the Martyr and Philosopher, First Apology

- Reconstructed fragments from the text sent by Pelagius to Augustine, which occasioned the latter's On Nature and Grace as a reply. In his original text, Pelagius explores the question of whether humanity could - as a possibility - live from birth to death without sin.

- Perpetua of Carthage (2nd/3rd c.), The Passion of Perpetua and Felicity
- At least partially written by her own hand prior to her martyrdom in AD 203, this account of Perpetua's martyrdom is an important early martyrology, and one of the earliest texts by a Christian woman.

- The account of the martyrdom of Polycarp, as recorded in the contemporaneous cyclical epistle of the Church in Smyrna. One of the earliest Christian martyrdom accounts, and still one of the most poignant.

- Homily delivered by Bishop Proclus of Cyzicus, in the Great Church of Haghia Sophia in Constantinople, in the presence of Nestorious, wherein he confronts some of the latter's ideas and offers his confession of the single person in two natures who is Christ.

- The great psalm of repentance, in English, Church Slavonic, Russian and Greek-traditionally said before entering the temple, before communion and confession, and in all times of repentance and need.
